Project co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Program 2014-2020. The project is carried out under a competition of the National Centre for Research and Development: Competition no. 4/1.1.1/2018 Quick Path for SMEs.

The purpose of the project is to design and built a fully autonomous lawnmowing device intended for professional customers. The main goal of the project is to create a fully autonomous lawnmower, which will carry out work without engagement of human factor in the process of setting lawnmower motion path. The subject-matter device will not require installation of border wires or limitation devices during the lawnmowing path setting and obstacle avoidance process. In the lawnmower built under the project, the lawnmowing path will be set on the basis of data coming from:

  1. a) vision system;
  2. b) Lidar scanner, which creates the map of area within 50 m from the lawnmower;
  3. c) sonic and optic distance sensors.

The project’s result will be an autonomous lawnmower possessing an innovative lawnmowing system (central module and lawnmowing modules) and software based on machine learning algorithms (deep learning), discrete optimisation and advanced robotic methods. Thanks to the implementation of appropriate safety procedures, the newly designed device will ensure high level of safety for people, animals, and property.
